I’ve spent the last few days working on my home IT setup. Part of my career has been spent building and configuring desktop and server computers and as I’ve been quite unhappy with the couple of hosting providers I’ve used over the last couple of years, I thought I’d have a look at DIY.
A bit of a challenge but things now seem to be working. A combination of an itsy-bitsy PC linux, apache, MariaDB and HAProxy all cached by CloudFlare seems to be doing the trick. PageSpeed appears happier, and the site seems to ‘snap’.
