A double header on a hot summer’s day in 2021. Near Calshot is the site of what, at the time, was hailed as the ‘cleanest’ power station in the UK. Fawley is now undergoing regeneration into housing for nearby Southampton which will lead to the eventual demolition of the saucer shaped control centre which has featured in films like Solo: A Star Wars Story, among others.
The other pictures show the coastguard control tower at Calshot before moving on to Netley, just across the water. Here I got to catch some pictures of the port at work and a family enjoying a day at the beach before I spent several hours capturing some very Soviet looking tower blocks, built in the 1960s.
